Recipe Instructions

Step 1
Preheat grill for high heat.
Step 2
Combine green onions, onion, chile pepper, soy sauce, vinegar, vegetable oil, brown sugar, thyme, cloves, nutmeg, and allspice in a food processor or blender; process for about 15 seconds.
Step 3
Place the chicken in a medium bowl, and coat with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for 4 to 6 hours, or overnight.
Step 4
Lightly oil grill grate. Cook chicken breasts on the prepared grill until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 8 to 10 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
Step 5
Transfer chicken to a platter and serve with lime wedges.

  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
  • 6 green onions, chopped
  • Lime wedges

  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 0.75 cup soy sauce
  • 1.5 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 0.5 cup distilled white vinegar
