Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Position rack in upper third of the oven. Grease a baking sheet.

Place sweet potatoes and soybean oil in a large bowl; toss lightly. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Arrange potatoes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, being sure not to overcrowd.
