Step 1
Combine ground beef, onion, and bell peppers in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Sauté until beef is browned, about 5 minutes. Drain excess fat.
Step 2
Season with chili powder, garlic, cumin, and bay leaf. Add in tomatoes, tomato sauce, and chile peppers.
Step 3
Bring to a boil and reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 1 1/2 hours. Stir in beans to heat through. Add salt and pepper to taste.
