Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

Combine 1 3/4 cups flour and baking powder in a medium bowl; set aside.

Cream 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup butter in a small bowl; beat for about 1 minute. Add eggs; mix well. Add buttermilk and vanilla extract, mix until well incorporated. Stir into flour mixture until incorporated. Fold in blueberries with a rubber spatula; pour into the prepared pan.

Combine 1/4 cup sugar, 2 1/2 tablespoons flour, and 2 tablespoons butter in a bowl with your fingers until butter is mixed in well with flour and sugar; sprinkle over batter.
