Recipe Instructions

Step 1
Bring 2 quarts of water to a boil. Add green beans and boil for 5 minutes or until beans are just tender but still have a crunch. Plunge green beans in cold water to set their color; drain well.
Step 2
Combine salt, mustard seed, dill weed, chiles, dill seed, and garlic in a large bowl; add cooled beans to the bowl and stir.
Step 3
Place 2 cups water, vinegar, sugar, and salt into a small saucepan; bring to a boil over medium-low heat. Pour mixture over beans; mix well.
Step 4
Chill green beans in an airtight container at least overnight or for up to 1 week before eating.
