Melt butter in a large, deep skillet over medium heat. Add onion and celery; cook and stir until tender, about 10 minutes. Stir in bread crumbs, salt, poultry seasoning, pepper, thyme and sage until well mixed. Stir in enough chicken broth to moisten.
