Recipe Instructions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Step 2
Whisk together flour and baking powder in a small bowl until well combined; set aside.
Step 3
Stir together brown sugar, 1/4 cup melted butter, and amaretto liqueur in a 9-inch pie plate until sugar has dissolved. Arrange peach slices in the plate and sprinkle with pecans; set aside.
Step 4
Beat together white sugar and 1/4 cup butter with an electric mixer in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in 1 egg until incorporated, then beat in remaining egg along with almond extract. Pour in flour mixture alternately with milk, mixing until just incorporated. Gently pour over peaches and pecans.
Step 5
Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and cake is golden brown, about 25 minutes. Cool in the pie plate for 10 minutes, then run a knife along the edges and invert onto a serving plate to cool.
