Rice, Oat, and Almond Crust

Wonderful for restricted diets, this pie has no wheat or dairy, but other tasty ingredients: rolled oats, raw almonds, brown rice flour, a bit of almond oil and sweetener. The dough is simply mixed and pressed into a 9-inch pie tin. Try it with a rhubarb or berry pie filling.

Recipe Instructions

Step 1
Blend oats and almonds in dry blender to flour consistency.n
Step 2
Combine dry ingredients in bowl; add oil and stir; add water and mix to soft dough.n
Step 3
Press mixture into lightly oiled or sprayed pan, pressing from center outward; crimp edges with fork or dampened fingertips.n
Step 4
Pre-bake for 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and cool before adding filling.n
