Step 1
Turn on a multi-functional pressure cooker (such as Instant Pot®) and select Saute function. Add bacon and cook until crispy, about 8 minutes. Add onion and garlic; saute, stirring occasionally, until just tender, about 3 minutes. Mix in green beans and saute, stirring often, for 2 minutes.
Step 2
Add chicken broth, salt, pepper and thyme sprig. Close and lock the lid. Select Slow Cooker function and cook until beans are tender, about 6 hours on the Normal setting (Medium) or 3 hours on the High setting (More).
