Recipe Instructions

Step 1
Place pine nuts in a dry, nonstick pan over medium-low heat. Cook, stirring constantly, until fragrant and golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and transfer to a food processor.
Step 2
Add basil, oil, Parmesan cheese, spirulina paste, salt, and garlic to the food processor; puree until you have a thick paste of desired consistency.

  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • ¾ cup olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • ½ cup pine nuts
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cups chopped fresh basil
  • 1/4 cup fresh spirulina paste
