Step 1
Cook and stir ground beef, onion, and garlic in a large pot over medium heat until beef is crumbly and no longer pink and onion is tender. Drain excess fat. Season ground beef mixture with chili powder, cumin, and basil; cook and stir over medium heat until ground beef is evenly coated and spices are toasted.
Step 2
Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce, beer, chile peppers, and vinegar; bring to a boil while scraping the brown bits of food off the bottom of the pan. Stir in brown sugar, salt, hot pepper sauce, and black pepper.
