Recipe Instructions

Step 1
Combine 1 cup water and sugar in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Cook and stir until sugar is dissolved, about 5 minutes. Remove the saucepan from heat and cool syrup to room temperature.
Step 2
Stir together syrup, remaining 7 cups cold water, lemon juice, cucumber, and basil in a pitcher until well combined; chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
