Recipe Instructions

Step 1
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir onion in hot oil until softened and golden brown, about 10 minutes. Add garlic and red pepper flakes; stir until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in Swiss chard, chicken broth, and salt. Cover and reduce heat to low. Simmer until chard is nearly tender, about 5 minutes. Remove the lid and increase heat to medium, stirring until liquid evaporates, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 2
Heat a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Warm tortillas in the hot skillet for about 1 minute per side.
Step 3
Fill warmed tortillas with chard mixture. Top each taco with queso fresco cheese and salsa.

  • 1 large onion, cut into 1/4-inch slices
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes, or to taste
  • 1 cup crumbled queso fresco cheese
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 1.5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 0.75 cup salsa
  • 1 bunch Swiss chard, tough stems removed and leaves cut crosswise into 1 1/2-inc
