This is a basic mashed potato recipe with a rich curry flavor, a great variation on regular mashed potatoes that goes with most main dishes.

Recipe Instructions

Step 1
Place potatoes into a pot and cover with salted water. Bring to a boil at medium-high heat and cook until tender, about 10 minutes.
Step 2
Remove potatoes from heat and drain. Place potatoes back in the hot pot. Add milk, butter, curry powder, salt, turmeric, garlic powder, onion powder, coriander, and cayenne pepper.
Step 3
Using a potato masher, mash potatoes until smooth and seasoning is evenly distributed.

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder
  • 5 cups baking potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
