Heavenly Maple Roast

This maple roast is one of my favorite dishes. It is perfect to have on Thanksgiving with your family. When you make it, you will be hearing a lot of loud 'mmmms' from everyone at the table.

Recipe Instructions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
Step 3
Spread Dijon mustard over the brisket.
Step 4
Arrange onions in the bottom of a Dutch oven. Top with sweet potatoes and baby potatoes. Place brisket over the potatoes. Sprinkle salt evenly over brisket and potatoes.
Step 5
Stir maple syrup and soy sauce together in a small bowl. Pour mixture over the beef. Cover Dutch oven.
Step 6
Bake in the preheated oven until beef is tender and easy to slice, about 2 1/2 hours. Let cool to room temperature, at least 30 minutes. Refrigerate 8 hours to overnight.
Step 7
Slice beef and return to the Dutch oven. Bake until warmed through, 30 to 45 minutes.

  • ⅓ cup soy sauce
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard, or to taste
  • 3 ½ pounds beef brisket
  • 2 sweet potatoes, cut into large chunks
  • 1 cup halved red baby potatoes
