Recipe Instructions

Step 1
Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat, and lightly oil the grate.
Step 2
Stir canola oil, root beer, Worcestershire sauce, teriyaki sauce, steak sauce, garlic salt, onion salt, black pepper, basil, thyme, and rosemary together in a bowl.
Step 3
Pierce steaks in several places on both sides. Arrange in a single layer in a shallow, non-reactive dish. Pour marinade over steaks, flipping to coat both sides. Marinate in the refrigerator, 3 to 4 hours, flipping steaks once halfway through.
Step 4
Remove steaks from marinade, shaking off excess moisture. Discard the remaining marinade.
Step 5
Cook steaks until beginning to firm and slightly pink in center, 5 to 7 minutes per side. An instant-read thermometer inserted into center should read 140 degrees F (60 degrees C) for medium.

  • 0.5 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground thyme
  • 0.25 cup high-quality root beer
