Recipe Instructions

Step 1
Dredge steak pieces in 1/2 cup flour to coat; shake off excess. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat; add steak pieces. Cook until browned on all sides and some juices in skillet. Transfer to a plate using a slotted spoon; set aside.
Step 2
Whisk soup mix and remaining 1 tablespoon flour together in a bowl; sprinkle into skillet. Cook and stir over medium heat until starts to brown. Gradually stir in water; return steak to skillet and season with salt, pepper, and garlic salt. Cover, and simmer over low heat for about 1 hour.

  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups water, or as needed
  • 1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
  • garlic salt to taste
  • 1 pound cube steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour for coating
