Despite its name, Greek Sauce is actually a regional favorite of western Pennsylvania as a topping for hot dogs, hamburgers, and even French fries. In this iteration of the sauce, ground beef is simmered with a variety of spices, tomato sauce, and mustard.

Recipe Instructions

Step 1
Place the beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook until beef is completely brown; drain. Stir the onions, tomato sauce, water, salt, pepper, oregano, basil, garlic powder, cumin, red pepper flakes, and yellow mustard into the beef. Bring to a boil; lower heat to medium-low and simmer 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  • 2 small onions, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons prepared yellow mustard

  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried basil
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cumin
