Recipe Instructions

Step 1
Heat oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Add mussels and cook for 4 minutes. Stir in wine, garlic, oregano, basil, hot sauce, salt, and pepper; cover and cook until mussels have opened up, 3 to 5 minutes. Discard any mussels that have not opened.
Step 2
Reduce heat to medium, add Alfredo sauce and butter, and cook for 1 minute. Stir in Parmesan cheese and simmer for 2 minutes. Serve with grated Romano cheese, lemon wedges, and parsley.

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 2 pounds mussels, cleaned and debearded
  • 8 wedges lemon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, cut into chunks
  • ½ cup prepared Alfredo sauce
  • 8 sprigs fresh parsley
  • ¼ cup olive oil, or more to taste
  • 2 tablespoons grated Romano cheese, or more to taste
  • ¾ cup Pinot Grigio wine
  • 5 dashes hot sauce (such as Texas Pete®)
