Recipe Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Step 2
Make crust: Whisk flour and salt together in a large bowl until evenly combined. Cut in butter using a pastry blender or a fork until crumbly. Whisk eggs, water, and lemon juice together in a separate bowl until combined; stir into flour mixture until dough forms a ball.
Step 3
Split dough ball in half; roll each half on a lightly floured work surface into about a 9x13-inch rectangle. Press 1 rectangle into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish to form bottom crust; set remaining rectangle aside.
Step 4
Make filling: Place apple slices into a large bowl. Add sugar, flour, and cinnamon; toss until apples are evenly coated. Spread over crust in the baking dish.
Step 5
Cover apple filling with remaining rectangle to form top crust, piecing together scraps to cover any holes. Cut several slits into top crust for ventilation while cooking.
Step 6
Bake in the preheated oven until the edges are browned and crisp, 45 to 60 minutes. Cool to room temperature before slicing into squares, about 30 minutes.
