Step 1
Mix apple, cheese, and bread crumbs together in a small bowl until well combined. Set aside.

Flatten chicken breasts between sheets of waxed paper to 1/4-inch thickness. Divide apple mixture evenly between chicken breasts, spread, and roll up each breast. Secure with toothpicks.

Melt butter in a 7-inch skillet over medium heat. Cook stuffed chicken in hot butter until browned all over. Pour in wine and 1/4 cup water. Cover and simmer until chicken is no longer pink, 15 to 20 minutes. Transfer chicken to a serving platter, leaving juices in the skillet.

Stir 1 tablespoon water and cornstarch together in a small bowl until smooth; stir into juices in the skillet. Cook and stir until gravy is thickened.
