Napa cabbage is first sautéed with onion, ginger, and cumin, and then simmered in sake and vegetable broth. This recipe is a great side to Asian dishes.

Recipe Instructions

Step 1
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add onion; cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add napa cabbage; reduce heat to low. Sprinkle with sugar and stir to combine; cook and stir, 3 to 5 minutes. Season with ginger, cumin, salt, and black pepper; cook 1 minute.
Step 2
Add sake and broth; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in balsamic vinegar; taste and adjust seasonings. Stir in parsley.

  • 0.5 cup vegetable broth
  • 0.5 cup sake
