Recipe Instructions

Step 1
Combine tuna, mayonnaise, celery, green onions, carrots, hard-boiled eggs, olives, and mustard in a bowl; mix until well combined.
Step 2
Set an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven's broiler. Line a baking sheet with foil.
Step 3
Brush melted butter on one side of each bread slice. Top 6 unbuttered sides with a slice of cheese, some tuna salad, another slice of cheese, and the remaining 6 bread slices, buttered side up. Transfer sandwiches to the prepared baking sheet.
Step 4
Broil in the preheated oven until bread toasts and cheese melts, 3 to 5 minutes.

  • 12 slices sourdough bread, or more to taste
  • 0.25 cup butter, melted
  • 0.25 cup finely chopped celery
  • 0.25 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 0.25 cup finely chopped carrots
