Remove chicken from marinade and shake off excess. Discard remaining marinade.

Whisk water, vinegar, margarine, garlic salt, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and black pepper together in a bowl; transfer to a large, resealable plastic bag. Add chicken, coat with marinade, squeeze out excess air, and seal the bag. Marinate in the refrigerator at least 4 hours.
