Recipe Instructions

Step 1
Adjust the oven rack to the lowest position; preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
Step 2
Peel onions and cut in half. Toss onion halves with oil and a generous sprinkle of salt and pepper. Place, cut-side down, on a rimmed baking sheet.
Step 3
Roast in the preheated oven until tender and the cut surfaces are golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes.
Step 4
Remove from the oven and adjust seasonings if necessary. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar to serve.
